Albacore Tuna

Although mainly a Northern Pacific fish, a good twenty-five percent of Albacore caught is right here in the Atlantic Ocean while NJ Tuna fishing. Their long pectoral fins, dark blue flanks and blue backs distinguish albacore Tuna from other similar looking species of fish., thus the reference as long fin tuna. Albacore Tuna meat is white and tastes similar to chicken, thus the nickname "Chicken of the Sea". It is a highly migratory fish.
